The spiced honey latte is back for winter

The chalkboard has been asking about it since April, and the answer is finally yes: the spiced honey latte returns Monday, and stays until the magnolias on Acorn Lane say otherwise.

What’s in it

Raw honey from a rooftop apiary four suburbs away, warmed with cinnamon, cardamom and a scrape of fresh ginger, then folded under a double shot of Hearth and silky milk. It is sweet the way toast is sweet — comforting, not cloying. Oat milk version tastes arguably better; the honey purists can fight us.

Why it’s seasonal

Partly because the honey harvest is, and partly because scarcity is delicious. A drink you can only get when the mornings are dark keeps its magic. It joins the winter bake list — Theo’s brown butter and pear danish lands the same week — and both will vanish sometime in early spring.

$6.50, all winter, no apologies for the queue.
